Bernard Baudoux – Le Touquet Paris Plage

Top tips on Le Touquet

Originally from Paris, Bernard Baudoux fell in love with Le Touquet twenty-five years ago and ended up moving to Le Touquet-Paris Plage when he retired – a logical move for him. As town councillor in charge of international relations, he is happy to promote his favourite seaside resort in both French and English. “I adapt to people’s interests – I can give advice on shops and places to eat, as well as sports and other activities.”

The town offers a whole host of leisure activities, ranging from golf, horse riding, tennis and sand yachting to hiking and cycling. “There are around forty different activities available here”, explains Bernard, “and Le Touquet organises some four hundred events every year!” Events include a wine show, Enduropale, Figra (International Festival of Investigative and Current Affairs Documentaries), sand sculptures, an antique show, a parade of vintage cars, and piano concerts on the beach. Children have no time to get bored and adults can play golf or enjoy the marine spa on the seafront. In his role as a Greeter, Bernard is able to point visitors in the direction of those activities which particularly interest them.

“Le Touquet is a great town for shopping, as well as for sports and outdoor pursuits. I enjoy walking to the northern headland overlooking the Baie de Canche, a trip which can be made on foot or by kayak. Plus, the resort has an interesting array of Anglo-Norman style buildings and spectacular sights just waiting to be discovered.” However, don’t venture out along the maze of forest footpaths without a guide, or you’re likely to get lost!
